Solvent Extraction

LIGHTNIN Mixer settler systems are custom engineered to maximize the efficiency of your solvent extraction processes.

Each system is comprised of a pumper tank, one or more auxiliary tanks and a settler tank. By working with a company that understands mixing, you will enjoy improved mass transfer, increased mixing efficiency and reduced entrainment levels when compared to the industry standard. Each LIGHTNIN system includes rugged, reliable LIGHTNIN mixers, mixing tanks, platform, transfer piping and a LIGHTNIN settler. Details of each component include:

Pumper Auxiliary Settler

Includes R320 impeller family for:

  • Maximum flow and head
  • Low shear and turbulence
  • Reduced air incorporation
  • Eliminates fines
  • Reduced chemical entrainment
  • Reduced crud formation
  • Excellent retrofit impeller for older systems. Frequently pays for itself in < 1 year
  • Includes either metal A310 impeller or composite A6000 impeller for gentle mixing to maintain uniform dispersion created in the pumper, maximizing mass transfer
  • Enhances phase disengagement in the settler at the lowest power available
  • Stable/reliable operation
  • Low headroom design
  • Adjustable aqueous weir to optimize organic depth during plant operations
  • Full width organic and aqueous weirs to minimize discharge velocities
  • Picket fence coalescence rail to maximize phase separation efficiencies and emulsion control
  • Covered designs to minimize evaporation losses and ingress of dust and insects
  • Corrosion resistant support, grating, stairs and handrails

Maximum stage efficiency at low levels of entrainment.
